上記サイトによって、GeForce6600GT及び6800GTのSLIと単体との比較が評価されました。
結果としては、GeForce6600GTのSLIはGeFoece6800GTより多少劣るが、ほぼ6800GT並の性能を発揮しています。
6600GTのチップ性能を下記に示します。
The GeForce 6600GT comes with the latest GDDR3 memory chips. Our reference
6600GT is using Samsung GDDR3 rated at 2ns, which if we do the math gives
us a maximum chip frequency of 500MHz. Since the default memory speed for
the 6600GT is 500MHz (1GHz DDR) the memory is already at its "maximum"
frequency.
価格については、Extreme/N6600GT/TD/128Mが2万7800円程度ですから、SLIだとその2倍の55600円とGeForce6800GT単体とほぼ同じかやや高めになってます。 そう言う意味では発熱・その他を考慮すると、すると6800GT一枚の方が良いですね。
6800GTのSLIは素晴らしいfpsの上昇率を示します。 2倍までは行きませんが、発熱・消費電力を無視すると最速SPEEDのマシンの完成になります。 SLIが浸透して成功するかどうかは個人的に非常に興味有ります。 個人的には正直浸透しないと見てます。 だとするとかなり今年の終わりから来年にかけて、ATIとの競争で大きな進展が出るかも知れません。 過去のVoodoo2のSLI時代とは違い、発熱も消費電力も違ってますので、顧客の考えと、いかにメリットがあるかと言う事になりそうです。 AGPとPCI

4. I recommend lowering your resolution to 1280x1024 or 1024x768 depening
on CPU & GPU core speed. 1280x1024 is more appropriate for high speed
athlon 64 CPUs with 6800U (or 6800GT @ 6800U) while 1024x768 works better
for lower end P4 CPUs with 6800GT @ stock speeds.
HDR Variables
You can change the value of "r_hdrrendering 7" specifed above
to any value between 1 and 11 to change the light rays of the HDR. "7"
appears to be the optimal setting. However, if you are having performance problems, try changing the setting to "r_hdrrendering
2," which disables most of the light ray effect but gives a large
performance increase.

the HDR to your liking (default values shown)

* Based on the Beta Catalyst 8.07 drivers.
* Fixed Radlinker installation issues, now it should give NO errors.
* Updated the Advanced 3D control panel to include Color/Gamma settings,
so I disabled the normal ATI Color tab.
* Enabled WMV hardware acceleration.
* Fixed a bug with some Radeon cards (mostly 8500 and 9000) which caused
texture corruption in some 3D games/applications. Thanks to lockves for
the tip.
* Fixed a few install/uninstall issues which caused some old settings to
stay in the registry even after installing/uninstalling the drivers.
* Enabled Geometry Instancing in supported cards (R300 and up).
* Enabled AI support without the need to use or install CCC.
* The Advanced 3D Control Panel has changed, now both D3D and OGL settings
are applied using Global controls in the 3D tab, and specific D3D and OGL
settings have been moved to the Options tab. This was the only way to add
AI support to the drivers.
* Found the cause of the laptop video playback problem, see note #1 in
the readme for the fix.
Known bugs:
* Hibernation and Standby are not working properly, I'm working on this.

That's right! The long awaited Far Cry patch 1.3 is out along with the
linux dedicated server. 
私のPCケースは、ガラス繊維入りの透明樹脂材でケースのサイドふたとなって、中のイルミネーションが見える仕組みになっています。 これを利用して透明樹脂の蓋に穴を開ける事で、PCケース内の排気不足をFANを追加しないで解消するtestを実施しました。 CPUFANは吐き出しタイプであるために、この透明樹脂板のすぐ近くに有るので、排気ファンで排出するよりも半分以上はこの穴から排出がされているようです。 評価結果としては、PCケース内の温度はGeForce6800GT変更してから常に40度以上でしたが、ほぼ5度の低下しめしました。 CPU温度においてもほぼ同様な数値となり、GPUにおいては初期は当然低いが、やはり今の室温22度程度の環境でも60～61度となります。 結果として2～3度程度の効果しかありませんでした。 今のPCの発熱解消においてFAN追加しないでの方法としては簡単でしかも同じ静穏さは保たれる。 加工は非常にわれやすいですから、ボール盤一気に穴を開けずに多少回転は抑えて作業すれば問題はないです。
