Fraps is a tool that lets you monitor current framerates in a
corner of the screen for programs using DirectX or OpenGL technology. It also
allows you to easily take screenshots of games, make movies of gameplay, and
manually determine the average framerate between two points.

CPU Opteronの価格が急落、100シリーズが大幅安
在庫を持つショップがやや少ないため価格表には掲載していないが、AMDのワークステーション・サーバ向けCPU、Opteronの価格が急落した。
今回値下がりしたのはSocket 939タイプ・シングルプロセッサ構成向けのOpteron
100シリーズで、165（デュアルコア・1.8GHz）の最安値が前回調査時から14,390円安の37,590円となったほか、品不足が続いていた146（シングルコア・2GHz）は流通量の大幅増加が目立つ。実売価格範囲は、170（デュアルコア・2GHz）が49,140～63,800円（平均55,268円）、146が18,690～25,500円（平均20,006円）。
さらにTurion 64が平均1.8～7.9%の続落となり、Athlon 64
3700+（2.2GHz）の最安値が30,000円を割るなど、AMD製CPUの値動きが引き続き目立っている。

米NVIDIAは7日(現地時間)、ミッドレンジ向けGPU「GeForce 6800
GS」を発表した。搭載カードのリテール推奨価格は249ドルとの事。
コアクロック/メモリクロックはそれぞれ425MHz/1GHzで、メモリバス幅は256bit、メモリバンド幅は32GB/sec。5個のVertex
Shaderと12個のPixel Shaderを備え、GeForce 6800(無印)とGeForce 6800 GTの中間に位置すると言う。
従来のGeForce 6800シリーズと同様に、Shader Model 3.0、UltraShadow II、HDR、NVIDIA
SLIなどをサポートする。
また同社は、GeForce 6800 GSの投入により、ミッドレンジセグメントのパフォーマンス向上を図るとしている。
GeForce 6800
GS搭載カードは、Albatron、Chaintech、eVGA、Galaxy、Innovision、Leadtek、MSI、PNY
Technologies、Prolink、Sparkle、XFXなどから発売される予定との事だ。
